OVERVIEW

The first development for the Ormond Hotel Group in Australia, the project comprises 530 hotel rooms and serviced apartments across two towers. The podium levels comprise a range of hotel facilities including a business centre, restaurant, café, gymnasium, yoga studio and co-working space. The design was led by architects Elenberg Fraser and Craig Tan, with interior design by New York based Studio Tack and Sydney based, Akin Atelier.

The dual frontage property runs between Flinders Street and Flinders Lane benefiting from views towards the Yara River. Located in a historically significant part of the Melbourne CBD the property is subject to an Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Overlay and myriad Melbourne CBD planning controls.

  • Point Polaris successfully navigated the project through a complex planning approval and endorsement process that culminated in an approved development of c25,000/m2 (gross floor area). The flexible design allows for floor plates to be reconfigured to increase or decrease the number and mix of hotel rooms.
